About us

We're two sisters trying a different way into Irish.

The idea started with a familiar frustration: you can spend years learning Gaeilge, recognise a surprising amount of it, and still feel unable to actually use it.

What we're building

Gaeilge Again is an early-stage experiment in language reactivation: finding what Irish you still have, identifying where recognition stops becoming recall, and helping you turn passive knowledge back into usable language.

What we're not trying to be

We're not trying to reproduce a school syllabus, compete on the number of grammar drills, or publish an enormous AI-generated course. The longer-term product should be practical, adult, contemporary and rooted in real Irish use.

How we use AI

AI helps us prototype software, organise material and draft ideas. It is not our linguistic authority. The current private prototype contains draft Irish; before a public teaching beta, Irish-language questions, explanations and learning content should be reviewed by fluent or qualified Irish-language contributors.

Why no audio yet?

Because bad Irish audio is worse than none. We removed synthetic text-to-speech from the prototype. When listening and speaking are introduced, the aim is to use high-quality human recordings and treat dialect differences with care.
